Definitions

Community Engagement: the process of building relationships with community members who will work side-by-side with you as an ongoing partner, in any and every way imaginable, building an army of support for your mission, with the end goal of making the community a better place to live.

Outreach: a systematic attempt to provide services beyond conventional limits, as to particular segments of a community: an educational outreach to illiterate adults.

Literacy: the ability to use printed and written information to function in society, to achieve one's goals, and to develop one's knowledge and potential.
